For those unfamiliar with the world of professional independent wrestling, promotions like Livewire Wrestling and King of BUSHIDO Wrestling present a lively mix of local talent, up-and- coming regional wrestlers and world-traveling wrestlers who have already graced televised programs such as WWE NXT, Impact Wrestling, Chikara and Ring of Honor.
In Recharged 3, the early show, the SGWA Champion Charlie Anarchy defends his belt against “The Wrestling Saint” Hunger Young, an Augusta native. The tag-team
of Dementia 13 (Darkness and Kevin Kurgan, both from Mid- land Valley) takes on the team of Cali Cannon and Bastion Savage. Augusta native “The Highlight of the Night” Jeremy Cruz takes on James Boulevard and the “Habersham Hero” Scott Mayson takes on the acrobatic Kid Riot.
In other tag-team action, Desolation (Don E. and Cyrus) take on Kid Holiday and Iceman, the latter of whom is from Aiken. Also, AIWF Cruiserweight champ Kameron Kade teams with Charlie Anarchy to battle “The Nefarious One” Karl Hager and his partner “The Rock N Roll Model” Matt Sells.
For the King of BUSHIDO 8 Tournament, the brackets have been announced and are as follows: “The Southern Savior” John Skyler takes on the Augusta-native Sean
Not one, but two wrestling shows are coming to Augusta on Saturday. Livewire Wrestling’s Recharged 3 show takes place at 4:30 p.m., fol lowed by King of BUSHIDO 8 at 7 p.m. at American Legion Post No. 63, 90 Milledge Road, Augusta.
Both outfits have held shows together over the past year in Thomson, Georgia, but as Livewire founder Billy Johnson pointed out, “Augusta is the bigger area, and as close to the river as we are, much easier for Aiken, Valley and North Augusta fans and businesses to be a part of the show.”
Livewire Wrestling has produced shows for over seven years, but this is the first live show in Augusta since 2015. This is also the first time the King of BUSHIDO Tournament will take place in the CSRA. The tournament is building toward a Tournament of Champions on March 2.

Legacy, an up-and-coming regional sensation. Skyler was a finalist in Ring of Honor’s Top Prospect Tournament who has also per- formed on WWE’s NXT program and fought against No Way José during the latter’s debut match at the WWE Raw after Wrestlemania, so certainly he’s a crowd favorite. More recently he’s portrayed Ricky Roberts, a guitar-playing Elias fan on the WWE flagship show.

Former King of BUSHIDO Tournament finalist “Michigan Muscle” Cody Vance faces Drew Adler. Two-time tournament finalist “King of Song Style” Cauliflower Brown (who has also made appearances in Ring of Honor and WWE NXT) takes on the unknown prodigy, Lucky Ali.

The first ever King of BUSHIDO female competitor, “The Sexy Young Cannibal” Savannah Evans takes on Kevin Ray in the final round of the first bracket. Evans has competed with CZW, Queens of Combat and Shimmer, and is a nominee for the Black Wrestling Alliance Female Wrestler of the Year alongside some major names such as WWE superstars Naomi, Ember Moon, Sasha Banks, Bianca Belair and Impact Wrestling’s Kiera Hogan.

In a preview of what to expect from the March Tournament of Champions, King of BUSHIDO 3 winner Suge D faces King of BUSHIDO 6 winner BSHP King. Suge D, also known as Sugar Dunkerton, is an Augusta native and has wrestled for Chikara and Impact. He’s fresh off a tour of the U.K., and he’s a current triple champion; Tidal Championship Wrestling World Champion (U.K.), Reckless Intent Hard- core Champion (U.K.), Heroes and Legends Cruiserweight Champion (U.S.).

BSHP King is currently involved with EVOLVE Wrestling, which is becoming something of a feeder program for WWE’s developmental system, and he was part of the Ring of Hon-
or Top Prospect Tournament.

There will be a special intermission performance by hip-hop artist Gorganus, and comic book artist Julian Velasquez will be selling copies of his comic, Bounty Hunter Beauty.
Tickets start at just $10 and are available at livewireaugusta.tk. Both shows take place at American Legion Post No. 63, 90 Milledge Road, Augusta, next to Lake Olmstead Stadium.
